Letter From the Editor in Chief & Publisher

As my inaugural issue as Editor in Chief and Publisher, this is a very special edition of Swimsuit Illustrated. I started in this role after Swanson Interactive Media Group, LLC (“SWIM”) acquired the Swimsuit Illustrated® in 2022. I have always enjoyed the brilliant colors, textures, and life that Swimsuit Illustrated brought to the pages of this magazine for the past quarter century, and under a new team of professional writers, creative staff, photographers, and journalists, Swimsuit Illustrated will reach new heights in the world of digital and print media. Our team will be bringing a wide variety of travel, leisure, fun, and fashion to the pages of the magazine unlike readers have ever seen before. Historically, the magazine has been published in hard copy and in honor of this tradition it will remain a print magazine but reach a much broader distribution throughout the United States.

In addition to this Summer 2023 Issue being the first published under my stewardship, this issue sets itself apart in other ways. While the publishing business has become more competitive and challenging, the magazine represents many of my own interests in the creative process, journalism, and people from all walks of life. I am committed to publishing a top fashion and entertainment magazine and look forward with great enthusiasm to a bright future with Swimsuit Illustrated. The magazine will bring audiences on a journey to the most beautiful locations, deliver photography from some of the finest artisans of the craft, and showcase model from around the world

I’ve been referred to as a serial entrepreneur, scientist, philosopher, philanthropist, and now publisher – but at the root of it all, I take great pride in ownership. Swimsuit Illustrated will be fun, unbiased, apolitical, and feature the best content from around the world. We will deliver extraordinary content that ranges from travel and leisure, entertainment, innovations, and entrepreneurship. The online version of the magazine offers even more compelling content which includes high resolution video and stories featuring the “SSI’s Top 20 Girls of Instagram,” personalized interviews, music videos, photo shoots, and original content.

We recognize the world has evolved, and the publishing industry is changing rapidly. Information travels at light speed and the ever-changing world of social media and news mediums push the limits of consumer engagement. Swimsuit Illustrated remains focused on allowing you — the reader — to escape with us through a journey of language, storytelling, and stunning imagery. Our thematic origin is the fabric of our magazine, and today simply remains — beauty. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and we will deliver.
